Der Heckmotor bzw. Hinterradmotor befindet sich, wie der Name schon verrät, im Hinterrad des Fahrrads.  Durch diese Lage ist das Fahrrad hinten etwas schwerer als vorne und gibt dem Motor viel Schubkraft, die hilft, sich vorwärts zu bewegen. Der Hinterradmotor kann mit Kettenschaltungen gefahren werden und bietet somit eine große Übersetzungsbandbreite.

The rear motor or rear wheel motor is, as the name suggests, located in the rear wheel of the bicycle.  This location makes the rear of the bike slightly heavier than the front and gives the motor plenty of thrust to help move forward.
